For home learning we had to go to WickED and find out some stuff about ANZAC. Our main job was to answer the questions that were there. Here are my answers:
1.The ceremonies occur at dawn because that was the time the ANZAC's landed at Gallipoli
2. Gallipoli is in Turkey, adjacent to the Dardanelles.
3. ANZAC stands for Australian New Zealand Army Corps
4. What happened is special to us because some of those fighters were New Zealanders, so it is remembered of those who fought in the battle as they struggled to defeat the Ottoman Empire.
Two of my great grand uncles fought against the Central Powers in WW1. One of them were shot in battle at Faenza, Italy.
