In room12 we have a special arrangement with classes around the world to participate in a program called Quad blogging. This is when we post comments on a classes blog about their learning. We get to scan through their blogs and see all the cool things that they have been learning. They always have interesting things to show.
For this week, Hamilton East School RM 10 is the classroom we have to post on.
Classes should participate in Quad blogging because they will be able to see what other school are learning, and they get to give back constructive feedback on what they see.
A good comment has a nice greeting to start with and lots of perfectly reasonable negatives in their learning, as well as lots of positive reinforcement. It can even maybe have a question at the end.
I love quad blogging!

Weeks Words
When we have buddy spelling in the classroom on Thursday, some kids in the classroom use a app called weeks words.
This app has a variety of features that you can use and games to play that is still educational.
Here is my fotobabble on weeks words:

Thursday Experiments
The first experiment we did onThursday was an experiment which involved a balloon, a bottle, and a lot of baking soda and vinegar.
First we poured in some vinegar into the bottle. Then we carefully stuffed baking soda into the balloon. When we hatched the balloon onto the bottle and the baking soda fell out, it created CO2,Which pumped up the balloon.
Our next objective was to see if we could make a bag burst. Last time we did this, we failed many times. We decided to change up the variables:
1. We had more sellotape
2. We had two bags in one.
3. We folded over the snap-lock area and sellotaped it up.
Most of them failed, until we did the two bags in one idea. We put baking soda in one snap-lock bag and zipped it up 3/4 of the way. Then we poured vinegar into the bigger bag. We put the baking soda bag into the vinegar bag and tightly zipped it up.
We shook the bag, and the pressure began to build rapidly. Once we thought it was going to stop, we moved in to have a feel. To bad it blew up in our faces!
Finally, we did a volcano experiment. We wanted to see what would happen if we mixed vinegar and baking soda together in a bottle and poke holes in the lid.

Our result was a fountain of vinegar. The silly people in our classroom jumped in front of the bottle so they could get sprayed. They probably didn't know that vinegar smells really off-putting.

The WOW Factor
Last week, we had our WOW Factor. If you watch Choice TV, then you might know what it is, but it is unlikely since they usually play the WOW Factor based on houses.
This WOW Factor (Waste to wow) is about making an outfit using garbage. It was a very fun activity to do.
The other people in my group were Nazaryth, Emily, Ariana and Fazil. Desmond was in our group, but he was then moved into the Kiwi group.
Our main inspiration was Nature. We could make an outfit based on anything in nature. My group based our outfit on trees. It was originally going to be a Rimu tree, but we then changed our mind and instead just used all of the trees in Nature. This made it a lot faster.
Our outfit consisted of a tree trunk for leggings, a plastic bag with leaves on it for shirt and a nest for headwear.

100 Word Challenge
This is the 100 Word Challenge for Week 10. The prompt was a picture of a persons legs dangling in the air, in a deep puddle after a storm:
It had been a very wet day so far. But I loved it when it rains. Because I get to put on my flashy gumboots and jump around in the massive puddles that were outside. It was always very fun.
Please comment :)

But not this
time.
I found something
that seemed as puddle, yet I was unaware that I was actually a small pool. I
jumped into it, but I tripped. My head plunged into the pool of water. I
struggled to get out but the weed was keeping me prisoner. I was running out of
breath. My lungs were bursting...
